Sleep apnea check

These eight questions are the STOP-Bang questionnaire, a screening tool doctors use to estimate the risk of obstructive sleep apnea. It is not a diagnosis.

Most patients go from first visit to treatment in about three weeks.

Common questions

Do I need a referral?

Most plans do not require one. If yours does, we’ll request it from your primary care doctor for you.

Will I have to sleep in a lab?

Usually not. Most adults can take a home sleep test. A lab study is recommended for some heart, lung or neurological conditions.

What if I can’t tolerate CPAP?

There are other options, including oral appliances and positional therapy. We’ll adjust your mask and settings first; most people find a fit that works.

Can I bring someone with me?

Yes. Many patients bring a partner who has seen their sleep, which is often very helpful.
